Ray Avery's Rare Records
Настоящее имя: Ray Avery's Rare Records
These and other acetates labeled "Rare Records" originated in Ray Avery's Rare Records shop. Owned and run by record collector and jazz photographer Ray Avery.
The original store located at 6631 Hollywood Blvd. Hollywood, CA opened in 1953 then moved to 415 E. Broadway Glendale, CA. The building was destroyed by earthquake in February 1971 (news reported 20k 78s lost) after 1 year spent in a temporary location (possibly the 1349 Carmen Dr Glendale 7, CA address) Ray re-opened in 1973 at 417 E. Broadway, Glendale, CA although it was the same site as the old location apparently the street number was changed.
These are different from the Ray Avery Jazz Archives label entry which appears to begin after he closed the store and is only issuing CDs
