Sound Recording Company
Настоящее имя: Sound Recording Company
Founded in 1951 by Paul W. Carter (d. 1991) and his wife Irene (d. 1996), originally working out of their home on East Sinto Avenue in Spokane. By 1952, SRC was operating out of the Symons Building on South Howard St. in Spokane, advertising its services as "Complete recording facilities, commercial pressings, radio productions and transcripts, audition and reference recording, recording supplies, sales and service on all audio equipment."
Starting in 1951, SRC Records released 78 rpm singles by Spokane's Scandinavian polka band, Arly Nelson & the Tune Toppers. They also recorded country bands (Charlie Ryan and the Timberline Riders), the Whitworth College Choir, and teenage Rock 'n' Roll bands, including the Four Playboys ("Jungle Stomp"), the Renegades ("Black Jack"), and Bobby Wayne and the Warriors ("War Paint", on a custom 78 rpm in 1955).
