Top 40

Top 40 (or Top-40.org) was formed as a label in 2002 by Motor. Starting in April 2005 the label was mainly turned in a free distribution net-label, based in Moscow. The label releases music from artists around the world, in a variety of genres: experimental electronica, microwave/glitch, techno, ambient, field recordings, drones, contemporary jazz, modern classical and so on. All content is available for free downloading. The first 40 (or rather 41) releases had descending catalog numbers. Top 40 was the first release, Top 00 the supposedly final release, made available December 30, 2008. The following releases from 2009 upwards had ascending catalog numbers starting with Top-41.
