Rugged Vinyl Records

UK Hardcore / Drum & Bass label started in 1992 by Ben James and Ray Stanley from [a26448] Originally, Ray was the manager of Passion Records on Oxford Street and Ben was the manager of Red Records in Peckham. The first official release was [m216734], which sold around 1,000 copies on white label. By 1993, the label switched to the 'RUGGED' catalogue numbering scheme, with the popular remixes of D.O.P.E's 'When I Was Young'. The Rugged Vinyl crew hosted a show on London's Don FM 1992-1994.
