Rugged Vinyl Records

UK Hardcore / Drum & Bass label started in 1992 by Ben James and Ray Stanley from D.O.P.E. Originally, Ray was the manager of Passion Records on Oxford Street and Ben was the manager of Red Records in Peckham. The first official release was [m216734], which sold around 1,000 copies on white label. By 1993, the label switched to the 'RUGGED' catalogue numbering scheme, with the popular remixes of D.O.P.E's 'When I Was Young'. The Rugged Vinyl crew hosted a show on London's Don FM 1992-1994.
