Wertheim

German department store group of the Wertheim family, which had its origins in the Hanseatic city of Stralsund. The expanding, important concern was expropriated by the National Socialists and re-founded after the Second World War. In the mid-1980s, the Hertie brand and this group were taken over again in 1994 by Karstadt.
