Australian company of WEA International Inc. established October 1970 as Warner Bros. Records (Pty) Limited and renamed in 1971 to Kinney Music (Pty) Limited. November 1972 it was renamed to WEA Records Pty. Limited and opened their first own sales and distribution operation throughout Australia. 19 November 1990 it was renamed Warner Music Australia Pty. Limited In the first half of the 1980s there was a related company WEA Record & Tape Distributors Pty. Limited. Stock of generic company sleeves with this name were used through the 1980s and as late as 1991.
