This is a series.
VI International Tchaikovsky Competition.
The International Tchaikovsky Competition is a competition of academic musicians held since 1958 every 4 years in Moscow.
In 2006, it was decided to postpone the XIII competition for a year in order to restore the Great Hall of the Conservatory and separate the competition from another large-scale event - the World Cup.
The competition has the status of a youth competition, since the age limit for participants is limited to thirty-two years. The final auditions of the contestants are held in the Grand Hall Of The Moscow Conservatoire.
The first competition Tchaikovsky was held in two specialties: piano and violin. From the second competition (1962), the cello specialty was introduced, from the third (1966) - vocals, and from the sixteenth (2019) - brass and woodwind instruments.
