St. Michael Stiftkirsche, Bermünster, Switzerland The collegiate church stands on a flattened hill above the spot and is the center of the abbey precinct. Today's construction of the collegiate church is the result of a nearly thousand-year history. Despite all structural changes over the centuries, the early Romanesque building of 1034/36 - the largest of its kind in the canton of Lucerne - has remained intact to this day, although through the late medieval alterations and the two baroqueisations (around 1690 and 1773-75). the interior and with spire and Vierungskuppel also the exterior have been redesigned.
