Künstlerhaus Bethanien
Настоящее имя: Künstlerhaus Bethanien
Bethanien on Mariannenplatz in Berlin's Kreuzberg district was a hospital founded in the mid-19th century. It was closed down in 1970; citizens' initiatives prevented its demolition. The state of Berlin placed the Bethanien under a preservation order and bought it. Since then, it has served as a place for cultural, artistic and social institutions and self-organised initiatives and is run under the name Kunstraum Bethanien. Rauchhaus Studio is part of the building complex. The premises of Künstlerhaus Bethanien, an international cultural centre, studio house and workplace for professional artists, which resided in the Bethanien until 2010, are now located at Kottbusser Straße 10.
