The Rexophone trademark was registered on 10 June, 1911 by Jackson & McDonald, Importers and Manufacturers of Musical Instruments, 452 Kent Street, Sydney which had been established since 1906. The Rexophone Record 10" series ran from 5001 to 5688 and the discs were manufactured in Germany. There was also a short-lived 12" series which ran from 4001 to 4033.
After the outbreak of WWI in August, 1914 production off Rexophone discs was taken over by British companies. Initially UK Homophone and later Edison Bell. Records produced by each manufacturer used a different label design, although the 5000 series continued and reached at least 6140 by c.1917.
