Canadian record company from Québec established in the mid-1960's by Denis Pantis, Gilles L'Ecuyer, Jean-Paul Rickner (President), Gaëtan Laniel and Pierre Laniel. Closely associated with distributor Trans-Canada Musique Service (also founded by the Laniel cousins, RIckner was President of both, both companies shared same address). They were mainly a manufacturer and production company. Owned the labels Franco, Franco-Élite, Élite, Jeunesse Franco, Manitou, Maxi 4, Capon (2) and others. Other Quebec Labels owned by Franco Disque Inc. can often be identified by a matrix on labels and/or in runouts starting with FD. In 1973 the company joined the CRIA (Canadian Recording Industry Association).
