Kalamazoo Record

American label, possibly started by Frank Eager around 1907. Records were either 10" or 7". There were perhaps upwards of 2,000 titles released on the label. Duplex Phonograph Co. did not manufacture its own recordings, but instead held contracts with Columbia, the International Record Company (IRC), the American Record Company (ARC), and surprisingly even Victor. Many Kalamazoo records have been identified as originating from IRC and ARC masters. Kalamazoo records were produced in variations of at least seven different series: Tan labels numbered in the 100s (from masters of unknown origin) Orange and white labels numbered in the 100s (from masters of unknown origin) Orange labels numbered in the 1000s (possibly from IRC masters) Blue and white labels numbered in the 1000s (possibly from IRC masters) “Red Label” series produced by the American Record Company (ARC) Red label seven inch records numbered in the 100s (probably produced by ARC) Tan label seven inch records numbered in the 100s (probably produced by ARC)
