Sangeet Natak Akademi

Sangeet Natak Akademi (The National Academy of Music, Dance and Drama) is the national level academy for performing arts set up by the Government of India, on 31 May 1952. The Sangeet Natak Akademi Award - given in the categories of music, dance, theatre, other traditional arts and puppetry, and for contribution/scholarship in performing arts - is considered the highest Indian recognition given to practicing artists.
