[-M-E-L-M-A-K-] started as a local underground experimental rave & techno label project set up in the very first days of 2000 after a wild crushing garage NYE party. Founded and based for a long time in Lukovit, north-western Bulgaria, Vasil Raykov and Hristo Nikolov are the initial founders. Later it developed mostly as a psychedelic/goa trance experiments aggregator, with a tendency on fusion with downbeat, ambient and psy-dub styles. Originally developed as a much needed platform to give way of local interpretations, talents and pre-party music incubator, unbounded by big label frameworks and club sound dogma it followed a very deep underground path. And then an inactive period. Gradually in 2020 the label has been reactivated under the influence of dub techno, progressive, minimal and dub. Operating from Kyustendil, south-western Bulgaria it aims to release, for slightly wider audiences this time, some previous and current locally produced club music. All originated from a bunch of electronic music fans in their early teenage-hood, who have just massively discovered techno, rave, psychedelic/goa, downtempo and ambient alchemy. During the years it was run and developed by a small creative group identifying itself as the purely electronic fan club of the luk-O-weed crew or the G.T.N.D. Mob. Label's slogan stamped on almost every release goes by: "Bahur & Plyava for the ears from LKV & KNJ, since 2000! Your personal independent home-brew-electronica dealer!"
