Between 1926 and 1931, Victor used the ballroom of the Webster Hotel in Chicago, IL, as an occasional recording studio.
Among the hundreds of recordings made here are some important early jazz recordings by Jelly Roll Morton and Bennie Moten, but also dozens of recordings by local ensembles like the Czech American band of Václav Albrecht, Polish tenor J. S. Zieliński or the Polish choir Chór Nowe Zycie.
