آونگ

آونگ / Avang was a label in Iran between 1975 and 1979. It was the producer of expensive recordings and sung by the twenty most famous Iranian singers of the time. These recordings typically were recorded at Studio Pop in Tehran with large string sections and arranger منوچهر چشم‌آذر (Manouchehr Cheshmazar). Avang had an exclusive contract with Iran's most famous singer: Googoosh. The releases were on Cassette only and usually in compilation multi-artist format. After closing due to political changes in the country, the owner started a new company in the USA called Taraneh Enterprises Inc. The catalog of آونگ Avang passed to Taraneh. There is another label called Avang that started releasing Persian CD's from California in the 90's but have no relation to the original Avang.
