Pearl (3)
Настоящее имя: Pearl (3)
1946-1960s label from Covington, Kentucky.
A so-called "party record" label founded by singer and pianist Larry Vincent and composer Moe Jaffe in 1946. The label released material that Vincent himself described as "too risqué" for main stream record labels, but still "discreet enough to be acceptable to at least some mainstream record stores." Frequently, these songs and comedy routines were written by Vincent and/or Jaffe, then usually performed by Vincent himself accompanied by unknown studio musicians.
The earliest labels list the company as "Pearl Record Co. Cin'ti. O." Cincinnati, Ohio, where the records may have been pressed by Kings Records, lies across the Ohio river from the label's actual place of business in Covington, Kentucky. Starting in 1949, labels have a gap where "Cin'ti. O." used to be.
