Sefono

Sefono ( which means "Société d'Editions Phonographiques" in French) started in 1932 as a French intermediary of the US Hit Of The Week and English Durium Records. It started with its own productions in 1934. These records were made in US, for sale in France. However, some Sefono records state "Fabriqué à Slough (Angleterre)" (Made in Slough (England)). These have a 6000-series catalogue number and an F-100 matrix. The only advertisement on the reverse of a French Sefono that is rather common is the one that promotes the GRAND CONCOURS SEFONO from January 1935. Some records indicate H.O.W. on their label, referring to Hit Of The Week.
