Disco Popular was a brazilian label / record company / manufacturer runned by portuguese born João Batista Fernandes Laje, between 1919 and 1923. The company released recordings by Francisco Alves, Chiquinha Gonzaga and Vicente Celestino, among other popular artists of early 20th century in Brazil. The company was sited at Vila Isabel, Rio de Janeiro.
