Instant Records (6)

Instant Records was formed in 1961 in New Orleans by Joe Banashak and financed by local record shop owner Irving Smith. Named originally 'Valiant Records (5)' they changed to 'Instant Records' after receiving a letter of warning from Valiant Records. Instant's biggest succes was Chris Kenner, including the 1962 #2 smash "I Like It Like That".
