Deutsche Oper Berlin
Настоящее имя: Deutsche Oper Berlin
Largest opera house in Berlin, Germany; opened in 1961 and constructed on the former Deutsche Oper (German Opera) site which was destroyed during World War II.
The opera was raised in Charlottenburg in 1912 and was named "Deutsches Opernhaus". When Charlottenburg became part of Berlin in 1920, the house was renamed to Städtische Oper Berlin". In 1934, it was again renamed back to "Deutsches Opernhaus" and stayed with this name throughout the Nazi-era. In mid 1945, it was again renamed to Städtische Oper Berlin".
In 1961, the house moved to a new building, after the initial building was destroyed and the opera had its intermediate location at the Theater Des Westens. By this movement, it became its current name "Deutsche Oper Berlin".
From 1961 to 1990, the Staatsoper Berlin had the name Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin. In 1990, in order to avoid mistakes in names, that opera house was renamed into "Staatsoper unter den Linden".
