Estádio do Pacaembu

"Estádio Municipal Paulo Machado de Carvalho" (official name), also known as "Estádio do Pacaembu" or simply "Pacaembu", is a sports stadium located in Charles Miller Square, in the central area of the city of São Paulo, Brazil. It opened in the 1940s with a capacity for 70,000 spectators. In addition to sports competitions, the Pacaembu Stadium has hosted numerous events, from musical concerts to open-air masses (held by Pope Benedict XVI in 2007).
