Mellon Arena was an arena located in downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Due to naming rights, the venue was called as such from December 1999 until June 2010.
The arena was called the Civic Auditorium when it was built in 1961 and later Civic Arena from 1961 until 1999 and from 2010 until 2011.
The Arena primarily served as the home to the Pittsburgh Penguins, the city's National Hockey League (NHL) franchise, from 1967 to 2010.
It was closed in 2010.
