Clarion Record

This was a short-lived U.S. label originally produced by the Hawthorne Manufacturing Co.. The earliest specimens are single-sided Hawthorne & Sheble pressings from Star masters, duplicating material and catalog numbers on that label. Management of the Clarion label was transferred to Columbia Phonograph Co., which simply pasted a simplified version of the Clarion label over Columbia originals. Columbia's version of the label credited the "United States Record Company", a possibly fictitious company.
