International (17)
Настоящее имя: International (17)
Fania Records subsidiary that specialized in Salsa music from producers outside the main Fania structure.
Started as "Fania International" (or "International Fania") in 1968. In 1972 "Fania International" becomes "International" and initially shared the same numbering system with Fania until 1974 (SLP-004xx). It is not until 1975 that it switched over to its own numbering system (INT-9xx). Once the Argentinian Fabián Ross took over the reins of International, the plan was to turn the once dormant subsidiary based in Puerto Rico under Charles M. Tarrab into the only non-salsero label within Fania. This despite the presence of previously signed Puerto Rican orchestras, such as Roberto Roena, La Terrifica and Latin Tempo. Albums recorded by Roberto Yanés, Germaín & Los Angeles Negros, Palito Ortega, among others, in the 70's were released through International Records under license of their respective original labels for U.S.A. markets.
