24-LP series of historic "recordings" from the early 20th century, captured by Duo-Art piano rolls, which caught every nuance of the playing by the works' composers or renowned virtuoso pianists of the era: these were used to make modern stereo recordings when they were played through a 1929 Steinway. Two series of LPs were issued. The first, S/ME 2140 to S/ME 2151, were issued from June 1967. The second series was issued from June 1968 to May 1969 - initially announced as S/ME 2162 to S/ME 2173, they were actually issued with numbers hitherto used for WRC's Connoisseur Series, albeit with stereo prefix "S/" - S/3087 to S/3098.
