Concert Hall Limited Recordings

Limited edition series, always pressed on various shades of red vinyl, which came in two types of editions: First, a subscription series of classical releases generally limited to 2000-3000 hand-numbered copies issued on transparent red vinyl, beginning in December of 1946. Also referred to as "Concert Hall Limited Edition", with an different variant logo, on the labels (see images for example). This series was identified first by its edition, issued sequentially as A through H. Second, a commercially available set, also with the customary gold sticker on the cover but often not accompanied by the same labels or label logos. Earliest releases may also be identified as "A Gold Label Release". These releases may or may not be numbered editions, and there may be anywhere from one to four LPs per release. Multiple LP releases were also issued singly at times. Some releases were reissues of content initially offered by the Haydn Society.
