Cape Flats Uprising

South African Cape Flats Uprising was created by activist and writer Emile YX? as "an informal record, publishing and clothing label". It releases CDs, DVDs, books and magazines as part of the "Heal the Hood" initiative (itself founded in 1998) and is also a fundraising and social upliftment initiative for the youth of the so-called "Coloured" community living in the townships near Cape Town. The organisation has strong ties with Sweden where their CDs are distributed as well.
