Kraftone

Defunct Belgian label for popular music, active from 1960 until 1963. Kraftone was manufactured by Helia at Sint Niklaas (city in Belgium). The boss of the Helia record company was Albert De Backer. Helia started in 1960. When KRAFT stopped the orders in 1963 Helia was bankrupt. KRAFTONE records where cheap and it exists only to promote cheese and mayonnaise of KRAFT. In Belgium we call them ‘kaasplaatjes’ or in English ‘cheeserecords’ The generic covers exists in the colours RED, BLUE and GREEN. Numbering is simple: K 1, K 2 , and so on.
