Kalypso Records Ltd. Jamaica

Kalypso Records Ltd. Jamaica was owned and run by the Khouri family, and it was this family that developed the record recording and pressing facility that became, eventually Federal Records. Though it shared licence deals with the Melodisc company in the U.K. it was a distinct entity from that company. It appears that many Jamaican releases have already been attributed to the UK label and it is hoped that this profile will provide a place for correctly attributing the Jamaican Kalypso label releases.
