Hot Shots From Hollywood
Настоящее имя: Hot Shots From Hollywood
A 78rpm "party record" jukebox label launched in 1936 by John Collins "Jack" McClelland (1900-1973) in Hollywood, California.
Made for jukebox consumption, both sides of these records tend to feature the same titles. There are a few, probably late releases, though, that combine two different sides, as on the Hollywood Hot Shots label that replaced this label in 1937. Many of the earliest recordings are by an otherwise unknown group called The Hollywood Hooters. Most of the later releases are by pianist Ben Light And His Surf Club Boys.
The matrix numbers, ranging from L-0294 through L-0359, are recordings made by Associated Cinema Studios in 1936. Pressings were produced by Allied Phonograph And Record Mfg. Co. in Hollywood.
Earliest labels are peach-colored with black print and say "Recorded in Hollywood" at the bottom. Slightly later labels add below that the phrase "Not Licensed For Radio Broadcasting." Still later labels show yellow label color, like the successor label Hollywood Hot Shots.
