Ace
Настоящее имя: Ace
UK label; also appears as "Ace Records" or "Ace Records & Tapes". For counterfeits, please use Ace (9).
Label Code: LC 5982 / LC 05982
Label conceived in the 70s by Ted Carroll, who started out selling 2nd hand 45s on a London market stall. He was joined by Roger Armstrong and together, they set up Chiswick Records. They were later joined by record fanatic, Trevor Churchill. Towards the end of the 70s, they were releasing work by a series of "pub rock" bands. With the arrival of the 80s and MTV culture, Ted, Trevor and Roger decided to focus on the re-issue market. It was at this stage that the label name came into being; with the permission of John Vincent of Ace Records (3), Mississippi, Ace Records of Camden Town was born.
Ace has cemented its reputation in the re-issue market, with many sub-labels catering for a wide range of styles, including soul, funk, jazz, rock n roll, folk, country, punk, rockabilly, psychobilly and world music.
Since the middle of the 80s Ace frequently licensed Kent and other Bihari Brothers labels releases and in the early 90s they acquired the rights and start to use this labels.
Early LP releases were frequently reissued with the same cat#, but different label design, so is is mandatory to denote what version you submit. Possibly provide label images.
