WRF Records

WRF Records: independent label started by some members of the WestFriesRadioFront (WRF). WRF was an independent, illegal radio station, broadcasting 3 nights a week all types of alternative music, but mainly punk, hardcore, ska and new wave. Located in the region of West Friesland in the Netherlands. As WRF was illegal there was always the threat of the RCD (RadioControle Dienst) which tried to hunt down all illegal radio stations for the authorities. Three times WRF was closed because of a raid by the RCD. To raise money to buy and construct new equipment many benefit shows were organized for some years. As a way to reward bands for their help the WRF decided to start a label to release songs from them. And that was the start of WRF records.
