Maple Music Inc.

Maple Music Inc., a non-profit corporation set up in 1972 with the charter objective of organizing the "Maple Music Junket" and to "promote, publicize and expose Canadian music within Canada and around the world, through all means possible." Maple Music Inc. was the original name for the Canadian Music Awards Association, which annually dole out their Juno Awards to the Canadian music industry. The incorporation was co-founded and included the participation of most of the large record companies of the time and was the result of conflicts between co-founder Walt Grealis and the Canadian Recording Industry Association (CRIA) over how to promote Canadian music.
