A separate stage in Det Kongelige Teater, Copenhagen, for smaller, modern performances. Established at the turn og the 19th to 20th century as a stage for spoken drama it was soon nicknamed "Stærekassen" due to it's very little dimensions. From 1931 to 1945 a part of the neighbouring then National Broadcasting Corporation, DR, domicile. From 1957 and on, now named "Nye Scene", more frequently used for modern plays.
