Verve Folkways
Настоящее имя: Verve Folkways
American folk and blues label, originally founded in 1965 as a partnership between Verve Records and Moses Asch's Folkways Records for the purpose of exposing recordings from Folkways' artist roster to a newer and wider audience; initial LP's were drawn from Folkways' catalogue and featured such artists as Pete Seeger, Dave Van Ronk, Peter LaFarge, Lightnin' Hopkins, Big Bill Broonzy, and Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee. Almost immediately upon its startup, though, the label began signing original artists who would be in the vanguard of what would come to be called the "folk-rock" movement, including The Blues Project, Jim & Jean, Tim Hardin, Laura Nyro, Janis Ian, and Richie Havens. In June of 1967, by which time the original partnership with Folkways had ended, the label was officially renamed Verve Forecast.
