British quarterly music magazine founded by Trevor Taylor of FMR Records and Soundworld Publishers, which had 22 issues printed between Spring 1997 and Fall 2002. Avant was subtitled "Jazz, improvised and contemporary classical music" and featured articles, interviews, record reviews and a free CD with each edition.
