Swedish saxophone-player and composer, born October 27, 1924 in Västerås. After completing his studies in 1943, founder and member of the jazz dance band No Brothers as saxophonist and arranger until 1951. Moved to Stockholm and played in various orchestras - in the spring and winter of 1952 a longer substitute for Lars Gullin in Arne Domnérus' orchestra, in the summer of 1952 in Nisse Skoog's bop- band at Nöjesfältet opposite Gröna Lund, winter 1952 - 53 in Seymour Österwall's orchestra and from summer 1953 to autumn 1954 in Arne Domnéru's orchestra at Nalen and tours. Then shorter engagements with Rolf Ericson, Thore Jederby, Carl-Henrik Norin and others. From autumn 1955 - 59 with Leif Kronlund's orchestra at Skansen, Bal Palais and tours. Received an offer from Simon Brehm in 1959 to manage a newly formed music publishing house, Multitone AB. During that period, several song lyrics were written, e.g. The Last of the Mohicans for Little Gerhard, Rainy Night for Anna-Lena Löfgren and others. to Siw Malmkvist, Lill-Babs, Ann-Louise Hanson, etc. Published all the songs in Cornelis Vreeswijk's first three LPs in a booklet. Was offered in the fall of 1967 by Thore Ehrling to manage Ehlingförlagen's business afs. promotion for cover recordings and new versions of the catalog. In the following years, hundreds of lyrics were written, some of the most famous being Let the heart be with me with Sonya Hedenbratt, Swedish girl with Ann-Louise Hanson, If I had money with Jan Malmsjö. In 1977, Edling was elected chairman of SKAP. With this a board position in Stim, representative on NCB's board and spokesperson for SKAP and Stim in many Nordic and international contexts. Acting CEO of STIM 1985 - 1986.
