Pumpkin Head Ted

Pumpkin Head Ted is a mostly acoustic 5-piece ensemble that defies category. Pumpkin Head Ted brings together an eclectic mix of textures and rhythms that draws on blues, jazz, country, rock, Afro-Latin, among others, without being bound by these traditions. Pumpkin Head Ted has frequented many haunts and dives along the south coast of Massachusetts and Rhode Island for many years. Pumpkin Head Ted has performed with many great artists over the years, including local jazz greats Jim Robitaille and Rick Britto. Pumpkin Head Ted has also backed up the great singer-song writer J.P. Jones. But some of their most exciting and memorable collaborations came with Celtic music great Johnny Cunningham. Mr. Cunningham, who has performed with a myriad of great musicians: from the Pogues to Phillip Glass and has been a guest many times on Prairie Home Companion, stated in an interview that his performances with Pumpkin Head Ted were among his very favorite!
