Sistrum (3)

Sistrum was a Dutch folk group from Dordrecht. Founded in 1977. They played acoustic folk and bluegrass music and also performed in Belgium and Germany. They stopped in 1988 to continue in 2000 as a trio. On January 21, 2017 they gave a farewell performance in the Lantaern in Zevenaar (the Netherlands. Members: Ad Vermeer (vocals, guitar, bouzouki, cister and mandoline), Carel Jacobs (contra-bass, vocals), Leo de Kruis (vocals, guitar, accordion, dulcimer, keyboard and mondharmonica and from 1978 Ruud Verschoor (guitar, mandoline, vocals). Ruud Verschoor left Sistrum in 1984 and was replaced from 1984 to 1986 by Henk van der Elst (flute, violin). After 1986, Sistrum till 1988 continued as a trio.
