American Jazz multi-instrumentalist,composer and bandleader. Born c.1932. Father of bass player David Hull. He earned his degree in music from Notre Dame. He had a thirty-year career as a professional musician playing saxophone, clarinet and flute. He was also a prolific bandleader. His credits range from the Duke Ellington Orchestra to the Connecticut Symphony to Mel Torme, Tony Bennett, Bob Hope…even Katherine Hepburn. Jazz concert producer. Vic Damone’s musical director. He was musical conductor at the Sahara Hotel in Las Vegas. He led his own big band for over twenty years. He played the Newport Jazz Festival. Birdland, New York City. Carnegie Hall. He was a Jazz flutist on Columbia Records. He also had a second career in the cruise industry and is the author of four books.
