American songwriter and publisher. Born on Sept. 9, 1937 in Great Falls, Montana. Died December 7, 2015 in Nashville, Tennessee (age of 78). Pfrimmer earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, with a minor in art, from the University of Montana. Following college he headed to Alaska where he worked as a commercial fisherman during the summers and as a schoolteacher the rest of the year on Kodiak Island. He also guided hunting and fishing expeditions. Pfrimmer returned to Montana in 1971 to operate a knife factory with a friend, then decided to try his luck at songwriting, which led to his decision to move to Nashville in 1973. He charted as a songwriter fifty-six times between 1976 and 2005, nearly all on the U.S. country charts. He had seven #1 country hits including "My Heart" by Ronnie Milsap (1980), "Drifter" by Sylvia [Sylvia Kirby aka Sylvia Hutton] (1981), "She Keeps the Home Fires Burning" by Ronnie Milsap (1985), "You're the Last Thing I Needed Tonight" by John Schneider (1986), "Meet in the Middle" by Diamond Rio (1991), and "My Front Porch Looking" (2003) and "Mr. Mom" (2004), both by Lonestar, Overall, seventeen of Pfrimmer's songs made it to the top 10. Pfrimmer was nominated for the Country Music Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2015 for a body of work that spanned four decades and more than 450 songs. ASACP IPI# 69069055.
