Doug Fenske
Настоящее имя: Doug Fenske
Об исполнителе:
After a GRAMMY-nominated, six-time platinum, 15-year career in music production and engineering, Doug Fenske emerged from dimly-lit recording studios as an artist, releasing his debut album, Unread, in January 2021. A sequel to Unread, the breathtaking Somewhere in Paris, arrived in July 2021. The release of Violet in October, 2023 celebrates his 18 years worth of work across parts of three musical decades. As the final installment in The Human Trilogy, Violet is Doug’s closing expression and resolves the tension created by the first two releases by offering healed sentiments in parallel with light-hearted moments. Fenske’s vast experience on the Los Angeles music production circuit includes work on critically and commercially successful projects such as Frank Ocean’s channel ORANGE, Chris Brown’s Forever and Jamie Foxx’s Intuition. He’s also spent time in the studio with Bruno Mars, Andre 3000, Ne-Yo, Ryan Tedder and LL Cool J. Doug believes his purpose as an artist is to “bring people together through shared experiences.” The messaging in his songs, both playful and deeply serious, mostly includes navigating the various stages of relationships – beginning, middle and end. In his artistry, Fenske helms the production, instrumentation, engineering and mixing. Featured musicians lend their talents to several tracks throughout the catalog. Lyrics and vocals are written and performed with Teen AF and alongside collaborators. Fenske says there is a good chance that alternate versions, re-releases, new packages, compilation playlists, acoustic versions and possibly a deluxe edition of The Human Trilogy will land in the future, but Violet is the final project to bear his name; the sound, aesthetic, themes, sentiments and concepts have concluded. He says the story is complete and that he will return to making records for other people, although he hasn’t ruled out the possibility of creating a duo or group under the guise of a pseudonym.
