Michael Hay - Lead Vocals Tim McRae - Guitar / Vocal reinforcement Jack Tierney - Guitar Tim Nolan - Bass Ben Speer - Beats MAKESHIFT are a young five piece band originally formed in late 1996 in and around Woolgoolga a small sea side town on the mid north coast of N.S.W, Australia. The band has played countless numbers of live shows and entered competitions such as the 1999 Fender/CocaCola battle of the hands, receiving the most promising up and coming young band award, out of 52 entrants. MAKESHIFT have won school battle of the bands and also won the Grafton City battle of the bands and have been invited back to perform along side Killing Heidi at the Kicking Concrete Festival. With a new singer, new songs and new ideas the name PSYCOTIC didn't seem to suit the band. The name MAKESHIFT was appointed as the new name. MAKESHIFT has performed along side many high profile acts such as Body Jar, 28 Days and Sunk Loto to name a few. The band has developed an original crossover/funk style with influences drawn from Incubus, (hed)pe, Deftones and Limp Bizkit.
