Ed Finney

Born and raised in Memphis, Finney started playing guitar in the early 60’s and immediately took to playing the Blues. He soon discovered Jazz which has been his passion ever since. Ed Finney’s experience includes: recording with Stax legendaries such as Isaac Hayes, Carla Thomas and David Porter; touring with many of the greats of the Rhythm and Blues World including Otis Redding, Soul Children, Lynn White, and with “Ebony Web” opening for Al Green; playing with Jazz greats in New York City such as Dave Liebman, Jack Dejonette, and, the Jazz Composers Orchestra featuring Herbie Hancock, Bob Moses, Chick Corea, and Randy Brecker; playing in the Rock and Roll band, “Insect Trust,” that toured with The Doors, Cream, Yes and Frank Zappa; (We played rock but we played it differently”); and, while living in Los Angeles, composing musical scores for independent Films.
