2 by Bukowski is a post-rock band from Thessaloniki, Greece, formed in 1997. Members currently live in Berlin, London and Athens. After playing together in various outfits since their early teens, 2 By Bukowski was formed sometime in 1997. During their early days, the band used to record songs live in Nik’s childhood bedroom, and mail them to labels. This resulted in their first release, a split 7″ single with Lazarus Clamp, releaed in 1999 on Jonathon Whiskey. The single was named 'Record of the Month' by Record Collector magazine. It was followed by a number of singles and compilation contributions and the 2000 12″ EP “He Knows That In The Shadows Someone Is Making The Elements Bleed” on Liquefaction Empire. 2 By Bukowski’s first album “What A Long Strange Journey This Has Been” was released in 2001 by Thessaloniki label Poeta Negra, and marked the transition from homemade recordings to recording studios, while 2003’s album “Drink From My Bastard Grail” contained “Chopperfuck”, their first non instrumental composition, featuring vocals by Karine Charff of Amp. The band's third album, 2005’s “Yzordderex” was then released on Very Friendly. The band broke a couple of years later. Sometime in the mid '10s, the group was re-started. In 2017 they released the single ''Hot Summer", and followed it with the single ''Follow You Home" the next year. Both were released by Greek label Inner Ear. In November 2020, Sound Effect Records released their first album in 15 years, called ''Her Kind Fight Everything''.
