John T. Hall

John T. Hall (1875-1954) was born John T. Newcomer in 1875, Hall experienced success relatively early, composing the popular waltz "The Wedding Of The Winds" around the turn of the century and then scoring the well-known comic opera The Queen Of The Moulin Rouge. Later, he was involved in a scam using the business name Knickerbocker Harmony Studios, where he falsely advertised prizes for a song contests, while really only offering the submitters help in publishing their songs — for a fee. For this, Hall was convicted and sentenced to two years in the federal penitentiary at Atlanta.
