Patrick Steenks

Deep-House DJ & producer from Maasluit, the Netherlands. Music has always played an important part in iLLicit's life. At the age of 12 he began experimenting with some old music production software. Influenced by the (around that time) very popular Gabber-House, he began producing his own tracks. After a couple of years he lost interest in that kind of music. In 1999 he first heard Magik IV of DJ Tiësto and completely fell in love with the Trance sound. Then he discovered an online record store and bought his first records in September of that year. Soon he spent all of his money on equipment and records. He also started playing at small parties for friends. In the meanwhile his style evolved from Trance to Progressive-House. He also began competing in DJ contests. Recently his style has evolved once again. Being influenced by DJ Roog and others, iLLicit began experimenting with Deep-House music. This led him to his first public performance last year in the Tagrijn in Hilversum. In 2003 iLLicit joined the DJ Agency "EQH", based in Rotterdam. He also got a residency in the Bootleg DJ Cafe in Rotterdam.
