Ensemble La Dolcezza

The ensemble la dolcezza was created in 1991 by the baroque violinist Veronika Skuplik founded. The core ensemble consists of a group of strings, which form the sonic basis, which is then often extended by singers and winds. The ensemble's name is derived from a text by Giovanni Battista Doni from 1640, according to which, alongside the "adaptability of the viols, the dignity of the harp, the power of the trumpet, the vivacity of the fife, the melancholy of the flute and the touching quality of the cornett", and particularly "the sweetness (la dolcezza) of the lute", the violin should be excellent.
