Об исполнителе:
Swedish trumpeter and composer, born March 11, 1954. He is an internationally hired trumpeter. He has created his own instrument, the typhoon organ and has his own ensemble, Gothenburg Yiddish Orchestra. In 1972–1974, he was the only Scandinavian trumpet player in the Orchestre Mondial Des Jeunesses Musicales, which performed summer concerts in Europe, the USA and Israel under the direction of, among others, Zubin Mehta and Leonard Bernstein. Helperin also works with ambient music in the group Zebra Syndicate. After working mostly in music institutions such as symphony orchestras and theaters in the 1970s, Helperin has worked as a freelance artist since 1980. He developed the acoustic trumpet playing early on. In addition to using common effects such as reverb, delay and distortion, Helperin controls sampled acoustic sounds, synths and more via "pitch to midi converter". He also plays a variety of wind instruments from around the world, such as shells, zorna, duduk and näverlur. Helperin began his career as a composer at Göteborgs Stadsteater in 1976. Since then, he has written over 100 works, mostly chamber music but also for larger ensembles such as trumpet concerts, ballet music and opera. Helperin has its musical roots in klezmer music, a music performed by Jewish musicians in Eastern and Central Europe until World War II, but also plays Sephardic music and various types of oriental and Arabic music. He has been working with Muslim artists in various types of productions for a long time. 2005 premiered op. 107 "Baruch" at Gothenburg Synagogue's 150th anniversary. Göteborgs Domkyrka has been a frequent venue with various types of concerts. Since 2006, tower music has been played eight Saturdays every summer. Together with Robert Malton, Helperin has developed lobby54, lounge music where the trumpet and saxophone play to pre-programmed sampled accompanying phrases. From the fact that lounge music has been a sound mat in the background with pre-selected music, an audiovisual act has been developed here where the two winds also leave the stage and go out among the audience.
